Getting Started As the realities of the Digital Britain report sink in, the pressure from citizens, politicians and policy makers increases on the public sector to “do something” to address the growing digital divide. It s recognised at a central Government level that the Public Sector will have to intervene to ensure the third of the UK that will not have NGA delivered by the telecommunications market will not be disadvantaged. As a public sector leader, you have to balance a duty to develop the social and economic welfare of your community with your responsibility for “best value” for public spend whilst remaining within the laws governing public sector activities - not to mention financial, operational and, not least, reputational risk. As an introduction to public sector managed telecommunications projects we have created a one-day workshop that gives a clear unbiased view of what is involved in undertaking such a venture. The format can be varied to your specific needs, but typically will contain the following elements. An Introduction to public sector intervention in the UK broadband market
The workshop can be run at your work place, at a hotel or conference centre. The cost of the workshop is £1500 plus expenses - for up to 10 people. It is an essential reference to the main issues and challenges you will face and importantly, will provide a significant "kick start" to your project team. The session will be equally useful as an “executive primer” where public sector management or elected members can be quickly brought up to speed on the risks and benefits of creating a public sector backed vehicle to bring next generation broadband to their citizens and business. |
